HELPING MOLLYS HOUSE CHARITY
The fan club donated a Booze. Biscuit & Chocolate hamper to be raffled off in support of the Helping Mollys House Charity at their Musical Variety Show held at Goring Club in March 2014.
Helping Molly's House aims to raise money to convert a downstairs room to a bedroom and bathroom for Molly who has a life threatening condition

Image:

Molly is 11 yrs old and lives with her 6 year old twin sisters, mummy and guinea pigs and two very clever hamsters!!
Molly has a life threatening condition called Bulbar Palsy. Molly requires round the clock care.
Molly can be very poorly and her chronic lung disease is classed as life threatening and she needs 5 tube feeds a day and twice daily chest physio to drain her lungs of secretions.Molly ...has global developmental delay and is a wheelchair user. She has chronic lung disease and is unable to swallow, so all feeds and medication are given via a tube in her stomach. She becomes ill very quickly and in her short life has had more than 65 admissions to hospital for chest infections and pneumonias. She has also had 12 admissions to intensive care and each time has been on life support machines.
Molly is growing up fast and like any 11 year old girl likes having her nails painted, listening to her favorite band "Cover Drive"swimming and taking photos on her iPad and is growing in independence.
At present Molly relies on others to be able go to her room when she wants to rest or play or just have sometime out from her hectic sisters!
A down stairs room will allow Molly to become more independent and access her room when she wants/ needs some time on her own to escape. It will also enable Molly not to be far away from the rest of the family when she is ill and needs to be in bed, so still included in family life.
Molly would also have her own bathroom downstairs again increasing her independence and allowing her to enjoy long soaks in the bath - the place where she can be weightless and move freely. Molly is already too heavy for mum to lift on and off the chair lift and this has had severe consequences for her mums back, obviously this is only going to become harder as Molly grows. Having a room and bathroom together will allow Molly to move around in her wheelchair more independently and also allow space for oxygen bottles/concentrator and tubing to move freely between the rooms.
Molly has been granted a Disabled Facilities Grant from the local authority. Unfortunately this wont cover the renovation required due to Molly's specific needs.
